Helmut Klein, in Wien aufgewachsen, fotografiert seit seinem 8 Lebensjahr, erlernte zunächst Lithographie, Reproduktionstechnik und Fotografie.
Von 1970 bis 1977 lebte er in Südafrika, dort begann seine Karriere als Fotograf, zunächst tätig als Pressefotograf und Bildreporter, erste Ausstellungen spiegelten das Leben in allen Gesellschaftsschichten.
Ab 1977 arbeitete er in Seattle und Vancouver, 1979 Rückkehr nach Wien.
Seit 1981 vorwiegend in Wien als professioneller Werbe- und Modefotograf für österreichische und internationale Auftraggeber tätig, es folgten zahlreiche Auszeichnungen / Awards für Werbefotografie, Ausstellungen in Europa und USA.
Mitglied des Wiener Künstlerhauses - Gesellschaft bildender Künstler Österreichs, seit 1988 Mitglied des Art Directors Club New York. Ausstellungen ADC in New York, London, Tokio.
Ausstellungen im WIENER KÜNSTLERHAUS, Ausstellungen in Wien, Berlin etc. Ausstellungen im Rahmen des "Monat der Fotografie Wien-Paris-Berlin", "Triennale der Photographie" Hamburg, THE SAATCHI GALLERY LONDON Showdown, etc.
Allgemein beeideter und zertifizierter Sachverständiger für Fotografie, Reproduktionstechnik, digitale Bildbearbeitung und Druckereiwesen. 2007 wurde ihm der Berufstitel PROFESSOR verliehen.

Helmut Klein's passion taking photographs started when he was 8 years old.
During his education he studied graphic- and visual arts and the prepress process, whilst taking lessons in photography as well.
From 1970 to 1977 he lived in South Africa, starting a career as an editorial photographer, which led to his first exhibitions, showing life of all social-economic groups in the country.
From 1977 he worked in Seattle and Vancouver, returning to Vienna in 1979.
Since 1981 he is working as professional photographer mainly in the field of advertising and editorial.
During the next years he was credited with several international awards for advertising and editorial photography. Exhibitions in Europe and USA.
He is a member of the Visual Arts Association "Vienna Kuenstlerhaus".
Since 1988 he is a member of the Art Directors Club New York. Exhibitions ADC in New York, London, Tokio.
